Dan was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba. He obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) in Law at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, returning to Manitoba in 2013 to join the firm.
Dan practices primarily with the firm’s corporate/commercial group, advising small, medium and large sized companies, financial institutions and non-profit organizations on all aspects of business law, including acquisitions and dispositions, financing, commercial leasing, licensing and protection of intellectual property, partnership arrangements, real estate, land and condominium development and corporate reorganizations. Dan also acts in mortgage sale and foreclosure proceedings on behalf of banks, credit unions, private companies and individuals.
Additionally, Dan maintains a general solicitor’s practice advising individuals on a variety of matters, including the purchase and sale of residential real estate, wills and powers of attorney, family trusts and estate planning, cohabitation/prenuptial agreements and estate administration.
Outside of law, Dan is a musician and remains very involved with Manitoba’s musical community. He performs and records regularly with a number of musical projects both inside and outside of the Province and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Cluster New Music and Integrated Arts Festival. As a natural result of his continued connection to music and the arts, Dan advises clients as to agreements respecting management, licensing, recording and other related matters.
